Another autumn siren test here in Athens and this time I recorded an old Greek 'ELVIMA' siren from 1950. Notice the man who is in charge to check this siren, sitting right next to it when it goes off.

Very nice videos, thank you.
Does anybody care there about sirens? How do they react when they hear a siren?

Not much of a reaction. People know from the media when a siren test is scheduled and unless they are really close to a siren they continue their occupation.

That's nice. In germany nobody cares about sirens and siren tests. When a siren sounds they just keep on doing whatever they do. A lot of them are complaining that the sirens are too loud.
I can also talk for croatia. They announce every month the nationwide siren test. But it seems like not everybody knows what the siren signals mean. Especially the young generation. I am sad there is no siren near my house.

Hello orestis,

A solid base is something else!!! But it has been running for 64 years!
Absolut nice Video, thanks for showing!

Yes this custom made base is too thin and peaky for this siren. I hope it won't fall off next time!
